    Paul Aylin is a Clinical Reader of Epidemiology and Public Health and assistant director of the Dr Foster Unit at Imperial. He trained in Public Health Medicine and his area of interest is health services research. He has worked on patient mortality at practice level for the Shipman Inquiry and investigated paediatric cardiac surgery at Bristol for the Bristol Inquiry.

    SCI initiated the implementation of schistosomiasis and intestinal helminth control in 6 countries in sub Saharan Africa (Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia), funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Burundi and Rwanda have since been added, funded by Geneva Global. Since 2006, SCI has managed the Burkina, Niger and Uganda programmes for the USAID/NTD control project.
