W Wandsworth Prospective Diabetes & Cardiovascular Disease

The Wandsworth Prospective Diabetes & Cardiovascular Disease Study was funded by the Department of Health and aims to investigate ethnic and socio-economic differences in the epidemiology and management of diabetes and cardiovascular disease in a multi-ethnic, urban population. The study interfaces with similar studies in Wandsworth on topics such as renal failure and childhood infection. The study is carried out in collaboration with the Wandsworth Primary Care Research Centre and Leicester University.  The study has now been extended to a number of other primary care trusts, including Ealing and Brent, and now includes research on the prevention and early detection of cardiovascular disease.
