NMR

High field NMR facilities at the main South Kensington laboratory include:

Avance III-600 A equipped with Bruker CryoProbe system and LC-NMR-MS hyphenation:

  • One 5mm CP TCI probe (1H, 13C, 15N) with Z-gradient and ATMA
  • Two flow-inserts for cryo probe with 30 ul and 60 ul flow cell
  • One Agilent 1100 HPLC Chromatography System with diode array UV detector and Prospekt2 SPE cartridge system
  • One Bruker Esquire 6000 ion trap mass spectrometer with MS(n) capability connected for LC-NMR-MS via BNMI

DRX-600 B equipped for High-Throughput Metabonomics applications:

  • Bruker Efficient Sample Transferring (BEST) system (for flow injection)
  • One Gilson 215 sample handler (for automatic sample preparation)
  • One 5 mm Flow-Injection triple resonance probe with Z-gradient
  • One 3 mm LC SEI probe with X,Y,Z-gradients
  • Bruker Automatic Sample Changer (B-ACS) for tube NMR
  • One 5 mm TXI probe with X,Y,Z-gradients

DRX-600 C equipped for High-Resolution MAS analysis:

DRX-600 D equipped for High-Throughput Metabonomics applications:

AV-400 equipped with:

  • One 4mm HRMAS probe with MAS gradient (for 400 MHz)

Bruker 800 MHz with Bruker CryoProbe system:

We also use the 800 MHz facility in the Cross-faculty NMR Centre located in RCS1 (IC, Chemistry, South Kensington)


 

Mass Spectrometry Resources

Waters Q-ToF PremierTM equipped with:

  • Waters Acquity UPLC Liquid Chromatography System
  • This instrument is a quadrupole, orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometer with an electrospray ionisation (ESI) source. The UPLC system offers high throughput, sensitive and reproducible chromatographic analyses.

Waters LCT PremierTM equipped with:

  • Waters Acquity UPLC Liquid Chromatography System
  • This instrument is a time-of-flight mass spectrometer with an electrospray ionisation (ESI) source.

Waters UltimaTM equipped with:

  • Waters Acquity UPLC Liquid Chromatography System This instrument is a time-of-flight mass spectrometer with an electrospray ionisation (ESI) source.

Waters Q-ToF MicroTM equipped with:

  • Waters Alliance HPLC Liquid Chromatography System This instrument is a quadrupole, orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometer with an electrospray ionisation source.

A Bruker Esquire 6000 Ion Trap equipped with:

  • Agilent 1100 HPLC Liquid Chromatography SystemBruker NMR MS Interface Prospekt 2 LC-SPE NMR system. This instrument is an ion trap mass spectrometer with an electrospray ionisation source. It has MSn capabilities.

Agilent 7890A Gas Chromatograph and 5975 Series Mass Spectrometer equipped with:

  • Fiehn GC/MS Metabonomics RTL Library

Applied Biosystems Voyager DE STR.

  • This instrument is set up for MALDI use.
