Philosophy / Vision / Goals
The Department of Surgery and Cancer is at the forefront of novel and innovative teaching methods and benefits from the work of Professor the Lord Ara Darzi at the St Mary’s Campus into multi-media programmes and telemedicine links and the anaesthetic simulator brought to the Chelsea Campus by Professor Mervyn Maze. The Department benefits from the structures available within Imperial College for discussion of new ideas and innovations in teaching and learning, as well as from the academic literature and conferences.
The aims of the Department are to ensure that the parts of the curricula for which they are responsible are delivered to the highest possible standard and to support the continued professional development of their teachers.
