I am currently employed as full-time Research Assistant in the Neuroimmunity lab of the College, funded by a Welcome Trust grant and supervised by Dr. Egle Solito and Dr. Glenda Gillies. I also successfully enrolled as part-time PhD student at Imperial College London: my project is focused on investigating the effects of peripheral inflammation in the brain, with a special attention to the neuro-protective role of the anti-inflammatory effector Annexin A1.
My experience at Imperial College London started in October 2007 as Erasmus MSc student: I spent 10 months in Prof. Nic Wells' laboratory working on the final project for my MSc. The title of the project was: "Development of luciferase Reporter AAV vectors of Serotypes 6, 8 and 9 to evaluate strategies for evading the immune responses associated with repeated treatments".
I gained my BSc in Molecular Biology in Sept. 2006 (first class honours) at University of Padua (Italy), while my MSc in Human Health Biology in Dec. 2008 (first class honours) at the same institution.
