Flow Cytometry
The flow cytometry laboratory, supported through the Wellcome Trust-funded Centre for Respiratory Infection, is a core facility for researchers to use. The facility provides state-of-the-art instrumentation, services, education and consultation for investigators across many disciplines within the Biological and Physical Sciences Divisions.
Flow cytometry is a powerful tool for the multiparameter analysis of cells of all types. Six high powered high speed flow cytometers are available as well as Luminex LX100, and MSD.
Biosafety Form
All cell samples being brought into the laboratory, whether for acquisition & analysis or for sorting must be assessed for pathogenic and GM potential. Thus it is also required to supply a Biosafety form assessment of the cells due for sorting.
Fixed samples can be sorted after the fixative is removed. More information can be found on the link, biological hazard.

Expert support and technical assistance are available to help with the design and development of experiments. Please see contacts for help and advice. Academic Lead for this core facility are Prof Peter Openshaw and Dr Fiona Culley.
We can help you in designing and analysing your samples whether Flow cytometry, Luminex or MSD experiments plus provide cell sorting on a BDAriaII.
