Virtual Worlds

Introduction

The Medical Media and Design Laboratory was formed to undertake development and research in new media applications in healthcare (e.g. social media such as Virtual Worlds).

We have been active in Second Life since 2006 and specialise in Second Life, Opensim, Unity and other open source development environments.

We develop interactive environments for a wide range of advanced planning, training and assessment applications using Virtual Worlds including clinical and major incident simulations.

We collaborate with researchers at Imperial College and other Institutions to create research, training and design visualisations.

We also manage events and support a growing community of healthcare innovators.
